David Trubridge

English by birth, he graduated in 1972 with a degree in Naval Architecture. In 1981, he sold everything he had and set out on an open ended adventure which brought him to Caribbean, in the Pacific Ocean, up to New Zealand. Here he began to produce furniture inspired to his trips and his contacts: in this way a series of objects born from Maori canoe forms: light and flexible structure, they are a translation of his way of looking at nature, of showing his search about essential things, like wood and stone, of transmitting the simplicity and the fragility of human life.
