In addition to the two versions of the wall-mounted hat and coat rack 1012, W.H. Gispen designed a sober but surprisingly functional hat and coat stand, given model number 1016.
In keeping with the conventions of the era, the stand has several hat hooks, which impart a very distinctive character. The design also incorporates an umbrella ring, connected to the upright by a central cross-member. Another nice detail is the metal tray below the foot, to catch the drips from wet umbrellas. The heavy cast iron base provides stability.
