Scent by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga draws its formal and conceptual inspiration from a reinterpretation of the sleeping function.
Scent is designed and crafted in cedar without any hardware supports. The choice of finish is not arbitrary: the natural and relaxing scent of this wood (hence the name of the bed), the special surface finish that leaves it pleasantly rough to the touch and its tenuous colors are all elements that stimulate the user’s senses and make Scent a furnishing element with strong emotional impact.
The bed has a strong natural appeal, bolstered by the ‘mattress system’ made specifically for Porro by Pronatura. It encloses a completely new world: strong and flexible beech slats which ensure a deliciously relaxing slumber together with the pure latex mattress. It is an homage to ergonomics and to a philosophy of sleep with eastern accents, but does not shirk on functionality.
Two surprises enhance the value of this apparently simple bed hiding a complex and multifaceted design: a cubbyhole for magazines incorporated under the frame and an upholstered headboard with a zippered closure that can be used a storage compartment for pillows.
Scent is proposed at the fair in the queen-sized version but is actually composed of two single frames that can also be sold separately.
